1. Important Announcements:

1.1. Rob's Report

There are two things you need to be focusing on this Month...

First of all, your Festive Season Fundraising. What are you doing to capitalize on this amazing time of the year when people are naturally "Giving." It's also a time when gifts are being bought, so what products are you using to fundraise with that can contribute to people's gifts.

I'll be writing a couple of articles on festive season fundraising so keep your eyes on the New Fundraising Ideas Blog.

The second focus should be on planning your 2012 fundraising campaign. Do you have goals for 2012? Do you have a plan set in place for reaching those goals? What is your Fundraising Mix going to be (What fundraisers are going to use)?

Be organized and plan for the coming year!

There is also a new App for Website "Brick" Fundraising (Crowdfunding) that I'm researching, which looks to be a really simple way of setting up and managing this excellently innovative fundraising idea! Expect some reports and advice on using it soon.

1.2. Building a Help & Be Helped Community on RFI Facebook

The festive season is upon us and it's a season of Giving and Receiving... which is exactly the vision I have for Rewarding Fundraising Ideas Facebook. A place were fundraising campaigners can HELP and BE HELPED.

So join us there at RFI FB. "Like" and join the fundraising community!

2. Idea in the Spotlight:

Fundraiser Calendars

Fundraising Calendars are such a brilliant way of raising funds and also raising awareness for your organization or cause.

You raise funds with Calendars by obviously selling the Calendars, and also through advertising or sponsoring on the Calendars, by businesses.

But your Calendars will also raise further funds through the awareness that they raise for your cause throughout the year. And if you use a "Call To Action" properly on your Calendar, this will work really well.

You can also use Organization Calendars for other purposes such as gifts for consistent donors, etc.

Learn more about fundraising with Calendars here.

3. Tips & Techniques:

Effective Crowdfunding Tips - Setting Up Your Campaign Page

For many causes, Crowdfunding is one of my most recommended fundraisers. It's such a simple and Hassle-Free fundraising idea that can help you reach your fundraising goals easily and quickly...

But it can also be just as easy to have a complete failure with it, which means that you have to do things properly to have a successful Crowdfunder!

So here are some short bulleted points for setting your Crowdfunding campaign page up properly (Expect tips for Promoting your Crowdfunder in next month's edition).

  • First of all, understand why someone would consider donating to you. They need to have a personal or emotional connection to you or your fundraising cause. Read more on this here.

  • Catch people's attention with an impactful and curiosity creating heading! But keep it relevant of course.

  • Use a video instead of a picture (but make sure you use one of them; don't go without an image). Research shows that you have 122% more chance of being funded when using a video instead of picture to convey your fundraising story or need.

  • When writing your Elevator Pitch...
    • Connect emotionally.
    • Tell Your Story with passion. This is how you'll connect with potential donors!
    • Get to the point.
    • Be direct about asking for specific donation amounts.
    • Don't just ask for donations, also ask for further spreading of the word and sharing.

  • Use multiple Rewards for different donation amounts. Really encourage people to donate large amounts by offering worthwhile rewards!

  • If you're able to, verify your cause. This helps build your credibility and confidence in potential donors that you are a great cause to donate to!

  • Add as much information and relevant images/videos to your About Me section. This once again builds more credibility for you and furthers your connection with potential donors!

  • With all your writing and communication, make sure your spelling, language, and punctuation is correct. Look professional!
