Idea in the Spotlight:Flocking Flamingo FundraiserSo if you are a group that is looking for something, fun, unique, and exciting, then this is an easy fundraiser that fits all of those needs! With your fundraising team you simply acquire a flock of plastic Flamingos that you sneak into people's yards. You then charge them a fundraising fee to have them removed. Click here to return to the T.O.C. 3. Tips & Techniques:3 Ways of Boosting Your Fundraising SalesWith any sales fundraiser you will need a sales team. You will also need that sales team to have some basic fundraising sales training and knowledge. The better your sales team is at selling... (You Guessed it) The more funds you will raise. Whether you are a School, Church, Individual or other Non-Profit, you will benefit greatly by putting some effort into training your fundraising sales team (even if only a little). So here are 3 small ways that can help better your sales team and boost your fundraising sales and profits... 1. It starts with a Smile! This is really important... It all starts with a smile. Your fundraising seller should greet his/her prospect with a smile and look at them in the eye. When you smile at someone they (usually) immediately smile back. This helps them relax and be more open to talking. Therefore they will be more happy and interested to find out what you are fundraising for and how they can help. Always, Always SMILE! 2. Use the words 'Help' and 'Because'! Research shows that these two trigger words used in conjunction can increase a positive response by up to 95%. So just by including these two words in your sales pitch you could increase the sales of your fundraising products by 95%. An example pitch that uses these words could be: "Hi. Would you like to buy some beef Jerky to help my School, West Shore High, fundraise? We really need your help because we need to build a new sports hall. The beef jerky is a cheap, tasty and healthy snack..." Simple, to the point; with a reason (because) and a obvious need (help)! 3. Have an Incentive Program The last and most effective way to boost sales is to motivate your sales team. A motivated sales team will do more work and therefore sell more products! And how do you do this effectively... By offering a sales incentive program. Have prizes for the best sellers and/or for sellers that sell over a certain amount of items. Make sure the prizes are really awesome and that every sales member will be overly excited about trying to win one of the prizes. Keep reminding them about the incentives throughout the fundraiser and have a tracker board which tracks who's in the lead etc.! Every single product or sales fundraiser should have an incentive program! Without one you will lose out on so much motivation and therefore on revenue. Don't go without one!
