2. Idea in the Spotlight:

Gift Basket Fundraiser

A Gift Basket Fundraiser can be run in a few different ways. How you run it will depend on your cause, organization, and unique circumstances.

It is a fundraising idea that will work well for groups like schools, churches, booster clubs and sports clubs. It could also work for the right charities!

Here are the three different ways to run a Gift Basket Fundraiser...

1. A Gift Basket Raffle Or Auction - Perfect for Schools and Churches!

2. A Gift Basket Service - Essentially a Social Enterprise that will bring in continuous funds all year round, but will be harder to run.

3. Affiliate Fundraising through promotions of an Online Gift Basket Service.

To find out how to run each of these methods effectively read the Gift Basket Fundraiser here...

3. Tips & Techniques:

5 Ways Of Finding Volunteers

Finding volunteers is often a daunting and difficult task to do. But volunteers are often essential to run a fundraiser effectively!

So here are 5 Ways Of Finding Volunteers for your fundraisers...

1. Members of Your Organization or Group - This is the first and most obvious place to look. As members they will have a common interest in seeing your fundraisers succeed and will therefore be most likely to volunteer.

Contact or speak to them directly.

2. Off Donor Lists - Your donors have already shown a willingness to help out and will therefore have potential to be volunteers.

So got through your donor list and find suitable candidates to contact. Then contact them directly either by phone (preferably) or via email or snail mail (just make sure your mail is written and addressed to them personally).

3. At Events - Events are great places to find volunteers. Set up a table with brochures and volunteer sign up forms.

Catch people's attention with a big poster, by announcing over the intercom, and by being interactive with people walking past. Don't wait for them to come to the table, bring them to the table!

4. Press Releases - Write up a press release about your need for volunteers and send it off to all your local media (newspapers, radio stations etc.).

But make sure you follow the right Press Release Format Guidelines. The five W's, (W)ho, (W)hat, (W)hen, (W)here, and (W)hy. If you don't, your press release will not be published!

5. Through Your Online Media - And finally through your online media.

Advertise your need for volunteers on your website, your newsletters, your Facebook page, on Twitter, and on any other Social Media platform you may use.

4. Featured Addition To Rewarding-Fundraising-Ideas.com:

Online Apparel Fundraising

Apparel fundraising, which is the sale of your organization's Apparel like shirts, scarves, caps, bags, and stadium seats, is a MUST HAVE for all groups like schools, churches, and sports clubs!

But often it can be costly to set up. And that's what makes an Online Apparel Fundraising campaign so brilliant...

It's FREE to set up. And it's FREE to run. You don't have to deal with orders, take payments, or organize the shipping or delivery of the Apparel.

All you need to do is set your Online Store up, customize the Apparel with your logos and/or mottos, and then drive your supporters and potential customers to your store.

You then receive 20% of every item sold through your store, which is an excellent profit percentage for Apparel Fundraising.
